Grand Hotel Quisisana and NOMAD, an Avant-Garde Event

In the enchanting setting of the Certosa di San Giacomo in Capri, the fourteenth edition of NOMAD, a renowned itinerant event for collectible design and contemporary art, will take place from today, July 4th, until July 7th. Every year, it attracts collectors, gallerists, enthusiasts, and curious visitors from all over the world.

One of the highlights outside the walls will be a project centered on the photography of Andy Warhol, the father of Pop Art, curated by Martin Brûlé in collaboration with the Hedges Collection and set up in the exclusive spaces of the Grand Hotel Quisisana, the official partner of the event. Present on the blue island for the third consecutive year, NOMAD, conceived by Giorgio Pace and Nicolas Bellavance-Lecompte, is an unmissable event where artistic expression merges with the most innovative design, creating a true avant-garde journey of inspiration and creativity. NOMAD is a unique opportunity to experience the island dressed in an unusual attire that fits it perfectly, a four-day event dedicated to art that will once again see Capri, a beacon of style and culture, in the spotlight. Hosted each year in different cities, from St. Moritz to Venice, and set up in locations of extraordinary architectural value, this year the itinerant fair of art and collectible design will take place in the intimate and historic spaces of the famous Certosa di San Giacomo, the oldest historical building in Capri, and one of the island's most suggestive places. The welcoming rooms of the building will host internationally renowned galleries known for the curatorial rigor of the programs and projects presented.

Rossana Orlandi, Robilant and Voena, Volumnia from Piacenza, and Nilufar are just some of the renowned galleries present. As is now customary, for this edition, NOMAD will also activate exhibition sites outside the fourteenth-century walls of the Certosa, in special locations suited to host the refined artistic language that is the expression of NOMAD's identity. Coinciding with the start of NOMAD Capri 2024, the Museo Diefenbach, home to one of the finest collections of Karl Wilhelm Diefenbach, will exhibit works by the post-war German artist Anselm Kiefer in collaboration with the Lia Rumma gallery. Meanwhile, the utopian and metaphysical installation by the German artist Wolfgang Laib, City of Silence, composed of 34 wax sculptures, will be framed by the sacred spaces of the church of the Certosa. Once again, NOMAD 2024 will be vision and utopia, discovery and dialogue, in the unique and enchanting setting of Capri.
